HEULE is expanding the range of two of its tried-and-tested counterboring tools. New additions include the BSF backspotfacer and the SOLO counterboring tool, which enables machining on both sides of the workpiece, up to a bore diameter of 45.0 mm. Since these technologies eliminate the need to laboriously rotate and realign large workpieces, process times are significantly shortened, thereby substantially reducing manufacturing costs. And, as an added bonus, staff safety is also improved.
Backspotfacing up to 2.3 x bore diameter
The BSF is designed for automated operation and is ready for immediate use. It does not require a torque arm or any machine adaptations. The blade is extended by the rotating spindle (centrifugal force) and folded in by activating the internal coolant. For bore diameters up to 30.0 mm, activation using compressed air or a manual activation ring is also possible. The simple blade folding mechanism combined with the internal coolant pressure of the machine (min. 20 bar, max. 50 bar) ensures that any chips or dirt are flushed out of the blade window. The simple yet extremely robust design of the BSF tool enables the quick replacement of the coated carbide blades. These are available from stock as standard and can also be customised for specific applications depending on the customer’s requirements. The precise counterbores also in challenging materials combined with the long service life of the carbide blades proves convincing in practice.
This proven tool design is now also available for large bore diameters up to 45.0 mm. For bore diameters of 21.0 mm or larger, the tool is designed individually to meet the customer's specific requirements. With the new shank system, which starts from bore diameter 30.0 mm, it is also possible to design the BSF as a double-bladed tool, which significantly reduces cycle time. The large bore-to-counterbore ratio of up to 2.3 times the bore Ø is also exceptional. The maximum cutting width is 22.5 mm. The BSF enables the machining of flat or slightly uneven surfaces.
Front and back counterboring and backspotfacing in one single pass
With the SOLO from HEULE, spotfacings, counterbores or form counterbores can be machined on both sides of a bore in a single operation. Alternatively, machining can be performed exclusively on the back side of the workpiece. The SOLO tool concept stands out with its extremely robust design, which delivers outstanding performance even when machining challenging materials. Thanks to the rigid blade support, the tool can handle both highly uneven and interrupted cutting conditions.
HEULE is now expanding its existing SOLO tool range, opening up new areas of application. The expanded product range enables machining of large bore diameters up to 45.0 mm. With the new SOLO 25 tool system, counterbores up to max. 1.95 x bore Ø can be machined. The maximum cutting width is 20.25 mm. The tool and blades are individually designed to meet the customer's specific requirements.
