Our customer, an Asian aircraft turbine manufacturer, wanted to increase productivity by replacing a partly manual back counterbore tool. After the machining of the back spot faces, a fully manual deburring operation finished the processing of the bore.

HEULE proposed it SOLO counterboring tool which is distinguished by its ease of use and its high production reliability. It allows back counterbores in one operation without requiring the workpiece to be turned. The blade is extended and retracted radially through the action of centrifugal force.

By designing a customer specific blade that applies a chamfer to the bore at the same time, there was no need anymore for the previously required additional deburring process.
