The customer was looking for a solution to apply 3 counterbores to a conductor in one setup.
The solution proposed by HEULE is the efficient BSF Back-Spot-Facing tool.
For these counterbores a standard BSF tool with a working length of 50 mm has been specified.
Speed: 870 rpm
Working feed: 0.03 mm/rev.
The tool must be operated with internal coolant of 20 bar pressure minimum.
The customer was interested primarily in increasing the process capability as well as the feasability of backward machining. After 1'500 counterbores the blade is still in a very good condition and shows only little traces of wear.
The use of BSF allows him to machine the workpiece completely in one single setup. The full batch of 500 units can be produced without interruption.
The customer is pleased by the result. Particularly, the achieved production time has convinced him.
